Convenience Trend Fuels Ready-to-Eat Popcorn Sales Surge

Snacks overall solid performance is driven by steady performers, such as crackers, dried meat snacks, salty snacks and cookies, but a few segments are truly popping out as shopper favorites. These include rice and popcorn cakes, that saw 4.4 percent dollar growth and 4.8 percent volume growth over the 52 weeks ending October 2, 2016, according to data insights firm IRI. But even more so, it is ready-to-eat popcorn and caramel corn that are stealing the show, with dollars up 17.7 percent and volume growth of 14.6 percent.Learn More
