WASHINGTON (February 26, 2020) – The third annual Ruby Award for Supplier Innovation, an honor given annually to a National Confectioners Association supplier member for advancing the confectionery industry through breakthrough innovation, is now accepting nominations to be considered ahead of the 2020 Sweets & Snacks Expo. The award is named after its first recipient, Barry Callebaut, for its creation of Ruby chocolate.
“The Ruby Award recognizes supplier innovation that fuels creativity and efficiency throughout the confectionery supply chain,” John Downs, president & CEO of the National Confectioners Association, said. “The past winners of this award have revolutionized our industry’s ability to manufacture, distribute and market chocolate and candy, and we’re looking to recognize the latest innovations that have the potential to do the same.”
In order to be considered for recognition, the nominated innovation must have debuted in the 2019 calendar year and may not have been developed for the use of a single company. The recipients of the Ruby Award for Supplier Innovation are selected by a panel of NCA manufacturing member companies, which includes industry leaders from a selection of chocolate and candy companies. The recipient of the award will be announced during the Most Innovative New Product Awards reception taking place at 5 PM on Monday, May 18, at the 2020 Sweets & Snacks Expo.
Nominations for the 2020 Ruby Award for Supplier Innovation can be submitted at CandyUSA.com/RubyAwardNomination until March 27. Nominations for all NCA supplier members are welcome, regardless of input or service supplied. Self-nominations are accepted and encouraged.
